Flowers are one of my favorite elements in any event or wedding. My design work goes well beyond floral installations and beautiful bouquets but I always return to flowers and the garden for my inspiration. I enjoy sharing this inspiration in the classes I teach at Flower School NY. If you haven’t experienced one of their classes definitely have a look at the upcoming opportunities. I recently returned to the school to teach a really fun class featuring green, textural arrangements. These are some of my favorite materials to work with and I enjoyed not having one (traditional) flower in the class! We used ferns, vines, air plants, moss and many great textural accents! The class was inspired by a chapter in my book which features a beautiful green palette and many variations on this theme. I loved watching the different arrangements take shape as the class jumped into the mix of green textural material. It was a great night and I was so happy to actually be there. I had to make my way from the airport directly to the class as I was returning from a job in Colorado and my flight was very delayed due to very bad weather. Not only did I make it but I made it on time! That was a huge relief and I’m looking forward to the next great class I’m teaching in November. Don’t forget to check out the Flower School site for their calendar and info on all upcoming classes. Enjoy the images from the wild and textural afternoon of green arrangements!
